We are back and ready to go club racing for 2025. We start fresh, with round 2 in our horizon. Entries will be open in the next few days. We will advise when they on RiderNet. In 2025, the Bracket Racing series will again be held in conjucntion with the Race Center Preston MCC Club Championships 2025. We thank Race Center for their ongoing support across both series.
We have reviewed the schedule, and feedback of members. This year, we have added a Buckets class, to give those riders extra opportunities at racing. We will trial it out and see how it goes. Unfortunately, with restrictions across eligibility, we are unable to welcome juniors endorsed to ride in senior classes. We have also moved the club races up in the schedule, as requested.
As with previous seasons, Bracket Racing and the Preston Club are welcoming of riders of all racing abilities, and skill levels. We have seen many new riders to the sport go on to succeed in the Victorian, and even Australian Road Racing Championships, and are proud to boast that Bracket Racing was their entry point to the sport. We have many racers not looking to make it big, but enjoying taking track days with their mates to the next level, dong something they never dreamed they would be able to do and living their dreams, a few Sundays a year.

What is Bracket Racing?
Ever thought about moving up from track days and going racing with your mates?
It doesn’t matter if you are a novice, or an advanced rider, Bracket Racing is open to all eligible bikes and racers. Bracket racing is a form of racing where competitors are grouped into brackets according to their lap times, and not by the class of bike they are riding. This form of racing provides a very enjoyable and low cost form of racing.
What do I need to do to prepare my bike?
Your bike will need to conform with the requirements of road racing as per the GCR’s, such as lock wiring, removal of stands and glass etc. Preston members will be able to help you with your bike preparation if you are unsure how to do it. There is a handy prep guide below for those new to racing.
What do I need for protective clothing?
You will need full leathers 1 or 2 piece that zips together as well as the usual requirements of back protector, gloves, boots and helmet that comply with the GCR’s.
To enter you will need to be a member of the Preston MCC and hold an MA race licence or purchase a 1 day competition licence.
